Ben & Amy honoured me on the 13th of August by asking me to photograph their big day at the Crown Hotel Wetheral.
Ben & Amy are seemingly two side of one coin. Amy an outgoing crazily fun lady while her partner for life Ben is a seemingly quiet calm and reflective man. However, on this magical day they both seemed to merge together not only in marriage but in characteristics. Both had wonderful outbursts of emotions, from nerves to excitement. It was great fuel for me to get pumped up and to document.
As Amy walked down the aisle Ben had no idea what to expect. He was met by a stunning bride in, what I’m calling the biggest dress of 2016 that I have seen, She took everyones breath away as she walked down to meet her groom. The ceremony itself was beautifully timed and afterward we ventured down to the local train tracks for some alone time.
I always offer time to my brides and grooms after the ceremony. I feel it gives them true time to appreciate what they have been through, to absorb what they have just said in a declaration to each other, away from the crowds of family and friends. It also allows me some time to get some great photographs. But thats enough of me, Ill let you read what they both had to say about the day below and to see some highlights of the day yourself.
(Please note, the child is drinking from an empty bottle that was washed out. He just wanted to join in!)
“We had the pleasure of using Joshua for our wedding on the 13th August 2016. Can I just say how enjoyable Joshua made the whole experience of taking photo’s to taking us away to calm our nerves and capture the whole experience. We chose Joshua for his modern style of photography & his excellent images speak for themselves. As I’m sure your aware deciding on a photographer can be a nightmare, but don’t delay let Joshua turn it into a dream.” – Ben & Amy Cowen.
