You may recognise Stephen and Kris from several photoshoots over the last year including their wedding day which you can see here. On their wedding, they told me that they had just found out that they had been accepted to another stage of the adoption process to become fathers. Little did we know or think that in only a few months time, that would happen.
As they were up in the lakes for a few days we decided to make an opportunity of it and to go on a little lake district walk as a family. I asked Kris to write some words and what he had to say are below. I just adore this young family full of love and life. Dad, Daddy & Son.
“We knew when we got together, that one day we wanted to become fathers. We had to work out when would be the right time to start the process.
We got married and it seemed the most logical time to start.
Within months of getting married we both became fathers, we didn't expect things to move so quickly, but it felt so natural.
Becoming Dad and Daddy has been such a surreal experience so far. Learning about our son and his personality has been an amazing journey, there are tough times but the good definitely outweighs the not so good. We can't imagine our life together without our SON.
The first time that our son told us he loved us was so emotional, and we knew then, that this little boy felt so comfortable living with us.
We have moments we call 'Melting moments' where he will make us cry 'happy tears' telling us we are the best, that he loves us and so on…
We can't imagine our life without our boy and we are now a family!”
