Edinburgh is the stunning capital of Scotland and while I have photographed several weddings in Scotland I have never photographed a wedding in Edinburgh before. That was until COVID arrived and changed this couples plans. From a large wedding on the west coast of Ayrshire to an intimate Edinburgh City Chambers winter wedding.
Laura loves her photography and the original plan was to head into the Scottish landscape for some incredible portraits. With the change of venue, and moving from Countryside wedding to the heart of the capital, naturally, the photos were going to change. With this in mind, and the darkness of winter we planned some portraits before the wedding ceremony itself maximising our time for the day!
I love creating portraits in tough situations and being in the centre of Edinburgh sure has some challenges, so I asked for some local help from my friend Chris. Chris is actually a full-time magician and entertainer who is also mega into his photography.
With the restrictions on Laura and Liam's wedding getting tighter and tighter I thought it would be cool and fun to have Chris help me all day holding and moving lights for me in the busy streets, making sure my kit doesn't get in the way of passers-by and later in the night to do a small trick or two for the happy couple!
I adored this intimate wedding in Edinburgh and while it wasn't the original plan, it was still and fantastic day and I cant wait to be back in this stunning city, hopefully some day soon.
