Earlier this year I photographed a Level Up Portrait Session for Kathryn, Stevie and the newest member of their family, Isaac. I asked Kathryn to write some words for me to blog and it is so perfect, that I have just left it as it is, enjoy!
"After the birth of our son Isaac on the 27th December, we wanted to capture those first few special moments with him. Joshua had done a fantastic job on a post-wedding shoot I surprised my husband Stephen with last year, so we asked Joshua to do a newborn level up shoot for us.
Stephen and I wanted the same level of detail and passion he captured in the previous shoot, but with a very different setting. After a few texts back and forth Josh managed to fit us in and we had a date booked.
At 12 days old Isaac was the star of the show. Josh made us all feel so comfortable that we forget he was pointing a camera at us, even our exceptionally timid cat Ebony made an appearance. The plan had been to get some photos inside our house focussing on our new family, then to head out to the nature reserve.
Unfortunately with the weather not on our side, we decided to stick indoors. At first, I was worried that the photos would all look very similar in our little house, but Josh obviously saw something we didn’t and the images are truly spectacular.
From Isaac’s brand new nursery to our bedroom, then on to our simple hallway, we found ourselves not recognising our own home in the best way possible.
Joshua’s passion, enthusiasm and creativity beams from him and as we looked for a more natural photo shoot he is the one who brought it to life. Later that evening the photos came through and I can honestly say we are over the moon with them.
Josh has yet again captured one of the biggest changes in our life with the utmost care, compassion and attention to detail. Thank you again for an amazing job Josh you are a superstar!"
