For The The Lightfoots Level Up Portrait Session we went on an adventure to Caldbeck, a Cumbrian village close to the northern fells of the Lake District. It was amazing to see these two again as back in 2015 I photographed their wedding day, so whilst adventuring and climbing over rocks catching up on old times and joking around was utterly wonderful. I asked Cat to write some words and what she said is below…
“Our wedding in 2015 feels like a whole lifetime ago. The years have absolutely flown by, but we both feel like in that time we’ve done the most important thing in our lives – which is having our two girls Ivy and Eden.
Anyone with kids will get that this is pretty much ALL we’ve done with the last five years! It’s not always easy, and we have the extra wrinkles, grey hairs and eye-bags to prove it…but they’re definitely worth it! Lockdown has been such a difficult and surreal time for everybody, and not seeing anyone for so long meant that no one was there to take family photos of the four of us together.
Just because the world as we knew it stopped for a while, the girls didn’t stop growing and smiling and just being kids – so it’s important to capture them in photographs now more than ever so we can share those precious moments with the loved ones we’re unable to see right now.”
