What does it mean to be a love monkey? It means you’re open, honest and above all loyal. It means you’ll take the scares and the broken heart and hold them close. It’s seeing past what others may run from and be embracing to it. On Helen & Mark’s Couple Portrait Session I mentioned and photographed the song lyrics on their kitchen wall which said: “Hold my hand, understand, walk with me, kiss goodnight, hold me tight, I won’t let go, love me so. I got you, babe”.
It was cute to see and read. Knowing them the little I did at the time it was a glimpse into their love and their life which I was honoured to know. As the beautifully intimate wedding day approached closer and closer we spoke more about the upcoming day and its events. One strong theme was Love Monkey, by Edward Monkton. To my shame, I had never heard of this before and headed straight to google where I came across the wonderful video below.
During the ceremony, we were treated to this small book as a reading. It was perfect and fitted them and their day perfectly. It was almost impossible to hold back the tears with many of the friends and family in tears also. Thankfully I can hide quite well behind my camera!
This couple are beautifully matched and wonderfully fierce in their desires and outlook on life. I honestly cannot wait to see what adventures they get up to over the next few years.
As always, have a look at the below slideshow and images from this epic day. If you would like me to photograph your big day, please feel free to contact me!
