The Roundthorn Country House Hotel, near Penrith, is a Grade II Listed Georgian Mansion, with beautifully landscaped grounds looks onto the Eden Valley, Pennines and Lakeland Fells. Needless to say its a stunning location for a wedding, especially if the Cumbrian weather is kind to you as it was on Katie & Martin's wedding day who were married outside in the sunshine on the Roundthorns gardens.
Katie & Martin chose the Roundthorn Country House for their wedding day as they wanted a rustic yet classy, vibe to their wedding day that also matched their fun personalities. Fun is the right word for these two, honestly, I don't think I have ever met a couple who take the mick out of each other and laugh with each other as much as these guys do. Whether its a jokey handshake as they say their vows, or the death stare to the congregation when it's announced that "If anyone here knows of any legal reasons why these two may not be married". Or it's the cheeky bum grabs. These two are adorable and utterly in love.
I asked Martin what he loved about Katie and he said "Katie filled a hole in my heart and by being with her I regained a part of myself I thought was lost forever after the loss of my father in 2011. She makes me happier than I ever remember being. She also annoys me more than anyone ever could too but she would tell you the same thing. She's goofy and random, with a heart of gold, she values family over everything else which is something I too share with her. I love her drive, her ambition and her insanity. Love is finding some whos' crazy matches your own and ours fits together like a jigsaw."
