Peak District Wedding Photographer
Relaxed, Documentary Wedding Photography in the Peak District
I’m a Peak District wedding photographer capturing relaxed, documentary-style weddings and elopements. No awkward posing, no forced moments — just real people, real stories, and natural moments set against some of the most beautiful landscapes in the UK.

Hey, I’m Josh!
My style is a mix of 95% candid and 5% fine art portraits. That’s the perfect combination to catch the natural flow of your wedding day. Your Uncle falling asleep, that spilt wine all over someone’s dress, or those crazy dance moves from someone you didn’t know had the skills! Whilst also creating gorgeous portraits representing you as a couple and the laughter of all your guests having a great time.
The Peak District is beautiful, one of the best places for your wedding – so we can get as adventurous as you like. Want to find a cave or hike mid-way through your wedding? No problem! Want to venture into your wedding venue grounds for some portraits? Great! Even if the weather turns, we can embrace it or head inside for creative fine art portraits. Having a Winter Wedding? Epic! Let’s embrace the dark, cosy and weather!
Authentic, relaxed storytelling photography ful of natural moments with fine art feels is what I’m about. No AI, no bullsh*t, Just natural, authentic photography. Images that will show just you and your guests captured as you are.

Peak District Wedding Photographer Prices
What does a Peak District wedding photographer cost?
As a Peak District wedding photographer, coverage typically depends on how much of your day you’d like documented. Whether you’re planning a full-day wedding or a shorter, more intimate celebration, I offer flexible hourly coverage rather than fixed packages.
Full-day wedding photography usually starts from around £2000, with shorter coverage options available for smaller weddings and Peak District elopements.
Every wedding is different, so pricing is designed to reflect your plans rather than force you into something that doesn’t fit your day.
What affects wedding photography pricing?
A few things can influence the cost of your wedding photography:
- How many hours of coverage you need
- Whether you’re planning a full wedding or an elopement
- Travel and location within the Peak District
- Any extras like albums or prints
Most couples choose around 8–10 hours of coverage, but I’m always happy to tailor things to suit your plans.
Simple, flexible coverage
I don’t offer traditional packages. Instead, you can choose the amount of time that works best for your wedding — whether that’s a few hours or full-day coverage.
This keeps things simple and means you’re only paying for what you actually need.

New scenery, seasoned storyteller.
I’ve recently moved to the beautiful Peak District, bringing years of experience capturing the Lake District’s weddings, elopements, and heartfelt moments. The Peaks have already captured my heart like the Lakes always have, and I’m thrilled to start documenting love stories in this stunning new landscape. The blogs linked below will continue to grow, filled with inspiration and memories as I explore the Peaks further. I’d be honoured to photograph your elopement, wedding, or couple photoshoot here, creating images that reflect your unique story in this extraordinary setting.
Ashbourne & Dovedale Wedding Venues & Elopement Guide
Ashbourne and Dovedale sit in the southern Peak District within Derbyshire, and this area feels very different again from the rest of the national park. Compared to places like Stanage Edge or Ladybower, this part of the Peaks feels softer, slower, and…
Matlock & Matlock Bath Wedding Venues & Elopement Guide
Matlock and Matlock Bath sit in the south-eastern Peak District within Derbyshire, and this area feels very different from the more open landscapes further north. Based in Sheffield, with easy Access to the Peak District national park
Being a Peak District wedding and elopement photographer based in Sheffield I get to travel and see the incredible landscape this county has to offer at least once a week. I think the Peak District national park is the perfect location for a wedding or elopement wedding photography as it offers a beautiful contrast of pure luxury and ruggedness all in the same location. Its the perfect setting for breathtaking wedding photos. It’s just one of the many reasons us wedding photographers utterly adore photographing weddings and elopements here in a stunning part of the UK that includes Derbyshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
While I’m a documentary and fine art-styled wedding photographer based in Sheffield, I’m not limited to the Peak District. I regularly travel up and down the country taking creative wedding photos. My wedding photography has even taken me to destination weddings in the USA and also Italy. So if you’re planning a destination wedding or an elopement wedding, please get in touch, as I would love to be your wedding photographer.

Wedding Photography
The Peak District is a great location to get married, with a huge choice and a wonderful variety of traditional wedding venues inside the national park alongside more quirky venues, like classic mansion halls or Tipi’s and Marquees. I enjoy creating authentic moments in your beautiful photos photos that use elements of your Peak District wedding venue or scenic perfect backdrop to reflect in your wedding photographs.
Through my Peak District wedding photography, I aim to create unique memories for every couple, and I often use creative lighting to achieve visual art that you will be proud to have on a wall in your home to provide happy memories of your wedding and special day for years to come. As you can see in the photo, I embrace any rainy weather. Puddles are great for reflection photos, and rain can be lit up to frame you both with sparkles.
Peak District Elopement Photographer
Elopement is a term used for a mini wedding where it’s just the two of you. (And maybe a few family and friends). During these mini Elopement weddings (sometimes it’s called a Micro Wedding or Intimate Wedding), we’ll have more time to spend using the scenic hills and moors the Peak District is famed for.
Adventure with me during your elopement photography to spots with great views, whilst we create natural, authentic and special moments whilst you’re framed with hills like Kinder Scout and Shivering Mountain (Mam Tor) or a perfect sunset. If it’s a wedding near Tintwhistle, we would have the Middle Black Clough Waterfall to feature in your images, one of several stunning waterfalls in the Peak District that also include Kinder Downfall, at 30 meters, (the highest), and Waterfall Swallet (15 meters) or the romantic Lumsdale Falls.
If you’ve chosen one of the Peak District’s mini weddings venues like Tissington Hall, Shottle Hall, or Losehill House Hotel & Spa, I can share some local knowledge and insider tips on great locations for wedding portraits.

Peak District Wedding Photography FAQs
Do you cover the whole Peak District?
Yes — I photograph weddings and elopements across the entire Peak District, from well-known locations like Stanage Edge and Mam Tor to quieter, more tucked-away spots. I’m always happy to travel and help you find a location that suits your day.
Do you help with choosing locations?
Absolutely. Whether you already have a venue booked or you’re planning something more relaxed or outdoors, I can suggest locations across the Peak District that work beautifully for photos.
What happens if it rains?
Honestly, the Peak District can look incredible in all weather. Some of the most atmospheric photos come from moody skies, mist, or light rain. I’ll always adapt and make the most of whatever the day brings.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 6–18 months in advance, especially for peak summer dates. That said, it’s always worth checking availability if your wedding is sooner.
Do you photograph elopements as well as weddings?
Yes — I photograph both weddings and Peak District elopements. Whether it’s a full day with guests or something more low-key and adventurous, coverage can be tailored to suit your plans.
