Anna & Lee made their lifelong commitment to each other at the marvellous Armathwaite Hall overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. After hearing all of the plans for the wedding day while photographing their Couple Portrait Session back in October, I couldn’t wait to photograph their Armathwaite Hall wedding.
They met via Tinder. Out first date was in the local pub where Lee is from in Great Clifton. They both knew from their first date that this was the “real deal”. They both sold their houses and moved into their forever home after only being together 6 months. Lee proposed on Anna’s 27th birthday and 4 months later the wedding was booked!
They spent a good few Sunday afternoons trawling the Lake District looking at wedding venues to then decided upon Armathwaite Hall as “the venue is beautiful and the grounds are stunning”. Having a lake view was a must have for Lee whereas the building and function room were most important to Anna.
They both fell in love with the outdoor gazebo. They toyed with the idea of getting married quickly at Christmas but they also wanted a bank holiday weekend so They could prolong the celebrations and They’re fortunate that both may bank holidays were still available at the hall.
Anna’s dad decided out of the two dates as the latter would have clashed with silage time (yup, spot the farmers). Anna wanted the typical spring wedding with Light colours, floral and light! Hence the blush pink theme, crystal & pearl accessories and the fairy light backdrop.
The family are massively important to both Anna & Lee and they wanted them all to be a big part of the day. Hence Anna’s sister Bethany reading a poem and Lee’s cousin Ailish singing alongside the harp.
They wanted their guests to have good food and an enjoyable day so decided to have the rodeo bull and fireworks as well as the ice cream cart to give them a sweet treat!
