It's amazing to think how I was only at Armathaite Hall photographing an outdoor ceremony the day before Sophie & Freddie's wedding day! However, the lake's district being the lakes... the weather was oh so different! As the day started the weather was beautifully clear over Bassenthwaite, which takes up the majority of Armathwaites stunning views but it started to roll on down the valley into an incredibly moody and dramatic day. Thankfully though, both being up for the adventure we headed up to the terrace on top of the tower and into the rain, for some late afternoon photographs with the rain adding an epic finish.
After the outdoor ceremony, we were greeted with two Alpacas from the Lake District Wildlife Park, just down the road from Armathwiate Hall. I have photographed a few weddings with animals before, several weddings on farmyards themselves! But this was a first for me to meet Alpacas! And as soon as Sophie emailed me about them I couldn't wait to see what they were like, #didnotdisappoint!
As this was an intimate wedding day, I was only with these fab people for a few hours but we still got to do everything we wanted including some portraits over the bridge and at Bassenthwaite shoreline before heading back as the rain started and just before I left we headed up to the tower terrace.
