Emma & Adam's Winter Wedding at Healey Barn was amazing! Neither of them particularly ones to be the centre of attention were looking to have a relaxed wedding day where people could catch up and let their hair down. So Healey Barn was the perfect match for this! With all of its inside and outside beauty, family and friends could either hit the dancefloor or sneak off to a quieter room, or even the courtyard for some marshmallows on the firepits... won't lie, I lost count of how many I ate! Because of work commitments, they knew that they would be having a winter wedding so a venue that was as accommodating as Healy Barn was perfect should the winter weather decide to play its hand.
"Adam and I met in 2012 while I was still a student and working in a bar in town. He and Ian (the best man) had decided on an impromptu night out one Saturday and happened to end up in Walkabout in front of my till. He drunkenly asked for my number (a few times) and after a lot of toing and froing, I finally agreed, fully expecting never to hear from him again. The next day I got a text blaming me for his hangover... Jagerbombs were 5 for £10 and quite a lot were bought as an excuse to keep coming to the bar. After a few weeks of texting and casual dates we became a couple. I went round one night and never really left (sorry Ian...) and ended up living with them both for the next 3 years until Adam and I moved into our own house in 2016.
Adam and I are opposites in so many ways, which is probably why we complement each other. Adam is laid back and last minute, whereas I like to plan ahead and be organised. Nothing seems to phase Adam, he describes himself as a cat because he always seems to land on his feet but I am a worrier and stress over the little things. I like to go places, Adam is a house mouse (unless bribed). I am more sociable, whereas Adam is happy with his Xbox. We have our 3 cats who are part of our little family. We work well together because can have a laugh, although normally at my expense and are quite happy with just each others company (most of the time). Adam always said he wanted to be with someone for 5 years before getting engaged. I used to laugh at him and was sure if I hinted enough he wouldn't wait quite so long but in true Adam fashion, we got engaged 4 years and 51 weeks later."
I mean, just how amazing are these guys?! Anyway, have a look at the below images from this epic day. Also, why not check out this amazing couples portrait session. If you would like me to photograph your big day, please feel free to contact me!
