Katie & Chris Inn On The Lake Wedding was beautiful, as you would imagine with a hotel of this quality. However, as I now know from doing this for a few years, its people who make weddings, and this combination of amazing people and a stunning venue was to die for. I just adore the Inn on the lake wedding photography and looking for new angles and Ideas others may not have had at this well-established venue. The rest of this is short outtakes from the novel that Katie & Chris wrote for me, as always enjoy the photos.
"I was still studying at University when we started seeing each other and lived in a student house. Chris was very supportive of me whilst I was finished studying. When my course finished, and I graduated, I stayed in Carlisle and moved in with him. After our first holiday together to Spain, we discovered that the reason I was moody and tired for most of the time was that I was pregnant! Oooops"
"Chris realised how amazing I was, how much he loved me, and how much he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me (can’t say I blame him) after a meal with his family for his sister’s birthday. After we got back to Carlisle from Dumfries (where the meal was), he popped into the pub to get the engagement ring he had bought for me out of his locker. He asked me to marry him when we got back to the house, and obviously (as we're planning a wedding) I said Yes!
"Fast forward a little bit, where we worked together to raise Lilly in between both working full time. After a while, I decided to change my career to something with hours better suited to having a family. I started working for a bank full time. During this time, we planned our first family holiday as well as starting to plan the wedding. We found out we were pregnant, AGAIN! Double ooops!! It wasn’t as scary the second time. It was exciting to think Lilly would have someone to play with as she grew up."
"We always knew we wanted to get married in the Lake District due to its natural beauty and geographic location between Dumfries and Redditch. After many, many, many visits, we finally bagged ourselves a Saturday date in the summertime! It was difficult to pick a date as Chris had to check it didn’t clash with the football..."
"We finally came to the decision on Inn on the Lake! Mostly because of the great surrounding and knew that a great photographer would be in their prime with the natural landscape the venue had to offer. Also, because Gary from Inn on the Lake made the decision so easy due to his infectious personality and non-pushy nature. We thought we had missed a Saturday wedding as when we returned to book the date we had chosen was no longer available 🙁 however luck would be on our side as when we returned once again to put down the deposit we noticed that the Saturday we wanted was now available again 🙂 so we were all over that date like white on rice!!! SO that was stage one of operation Wedding Day started!"
"Then we needed to look for a photographer... We visited one in Newcastle, and nearly signed his paperwork there and then! We would have done if it weren't for the second meeting we had planned with this bloke called Joshua. We didn’t think he stood a chance against the first one, but after awkwardly sitting two tables away in the pub, Chris and Joshua locked eyes across the room. It was the beginning of something beautiful. The first photographer, whilst still good, was overshadowed by this Joshua blokes work so we booked him before anyone else stole our date!"
