Low House at Armathwaite is a gorgeous venue to hold a wedding, and while it's been a few years since I was last there, its charm hasn't changed at all. Kim & Dan decided to have a Special Event Tipi Wedding day at Low House, meaning that while some parts of the day were in the house, the majority of the day was on the stunning grounds in the Tipi's; it was a perfect combo for the laid back wedding they wanted.
The day itself was a classic Cumbrian summer day, starting with rain! Thankfully, having seen the weather forecast, the decision was made to put another Tipi Tent up where the outdoor ceremony was going to take place. Thankfully, after the rather damp ceremony, the weather turned, and the sun shone for the rest of the day.
Under the tipi canopy, surrounded by friends and family, the open-air setting reflected their commitment to keeping things light, fun, and real. The reception was a breeze – no over-the-top decorations, just a bunch of tipis connected to create a chill space. Wooden furnishings and soft textiles added a touch of warmth, but it was all about keeping things casual. Guests kicked back, shared laughs, and made memories in a setting that felt cozy and fun.
As the night progressed, the dance floor brought out the party in everyone. The tipis provided a sheltered space for dancing, with live music setting the mood. A night of laughter, joy, and, of course, a fair share of drinks ensued. As the couple danced their way into the night, surrounded by loved ones, their vision of a relaxed and enjoyable wedding became a reality – no cheese, just good times and great memories.
