I had never photographed a wedding at the Villa Levens, just outside of the village Levens near Kendal. However, with only 2 days to go, I was contacted by a photographer who was sadly ill and in hospital needing a wedding covered. I adore the wedding photography community as I genuinely feel like it's a solid one where we help each other as I would hope someone would help me if I was in the same position.
It is because of this that I got to meet the amazing Brooke and Chris and to photograph a Villa Levens Wedding ceremony and wedding reception in 'The Pavilion' which was full of amazing entertainment from Singer Ross McWhirter & DJ Lee Blizard who also stepped in at the last moment as the original DJ had to self isolate.
It didn't matter that all of this was going on though because as the wedding team, all be it, newly added to the team we made sure the wedding was epic, and it sure was a wedding party to remember.
Brooke & Chris met at a local pub when Brooke was walking in the rain with a bag over her head trying to keep dry. Being a gentleman, Chris asked if she was ok. Brooke said she was fine but Chris came back with the incredible line "Don't you know who I am?!" Which he still gets ridiculed for today. They quickly met up for a date a few days later and the rest, as they say, is history.
"As soon as we saw the Villa Levens we fell in love with the characteristics and the Christmas decorations"
The day itself was an amazing winters day with the sun shining, which after days of rain was a relief, as we could explore the grounds for portraits during the day as well as some off-camera flash photography in the light time before the incredible party that followed.
Have a look at the below images from this winter wedding and If you would like me to photograph your big or small day, please feel free to contact me!
