David & Rebecca's musical love story is clear to see for anyone who knows them, and I, have known David and his family for 20 years. I, in fact, remember my first lesson in primary school sat down next to David doing maths, I vividly remember thinking he was a right smart arse... My opinions are still yet to change. However, one thing that was always apparent was his natural musical ability, not just in his own right but his entire family.
It's with no shock then that he went to study music at Bath Spa University where he met his now wife Rebecca. While we were at opposite ends of the country we have always stayed in touch and met up when possible. Each time I learnt more and more about this lovely lady Rebecca that he would talk about and how amazing she is. I would always joke about how he should pop the question and I would take the photos...
Fast forward to 2015 and not only had they moved into their own home now in Nottingham but on the 5th year dating anniversary David popped the question! Needless to say, she said yes! And funnily enough, I was asked to photograph their wedding day, an absolute honour! As a couple, they have been through a lot together but with each passing day, they have grown stronger into the rock solid couple that they are.
Music was the bedrock of the day with their own compilation of songs throughout the day (one you will hear in the slideshow) with each song having a meaning for Rebecca and David for pivotal parts of their journey together. They even played a duet together before their first dance which was played and sung by family members. I won't lie, knowing a little of what they have been through, combined with the lyrics, and the fact family were singing it... I was almost in tears!
So here's to Rebecca & David, just a small bit of advice from an old friend. Marriage is not a journey, it is a song. Enjoy every note.
As always, have a look at the below slideshow and images from this epic day. If you would like me to photograph your big day, please feel free to contact me!
