Cartmel Old Grammar House Wedding

It was my first time photographing a wedding at the Old Grammar House in Cartmel, and I honestly can't wait to be back! Cartmel Old Grammar is a beautifully renovated country house set in landscaped gardens overlooking Cartmel Racecourse. The Lake District village of Cartmel is utterly gorgeous and is only 500 metres away from Lake Windermere. It's an exclusive use, licensed wedding venue making it perfect for your Lake District wedding.

It is here that Rosie & Matthew decided to get married and hold a wedding celebration with close family and friends present. Both Rosie & Matt have secured two excellent jobs over in America in their respected academic fields and decided before heading over to get married. symbolising how much they mean to each other, and to start their next life chapter together in America as a couple.

"Matthew and I have always found the Lake District to be an emotionally significant location for us, having holidayed with both our families and each other almost every year since we were young. I have visited Cartmel with my family recently, and we would walk past our venue to our local pub and always admired the gardens. When Matthew proposed, we realised it would be a wonderful place to get married, particularly concerning COVID-19 restrictions."

The Old Grammar House was the perfect location for their needs as it is not huge, with a max capacity of about 100 people; the plans and arrangements could change as the restrictions might have. Happily, however, they could go ahead with an entire wedding day with no legal limits enjoying their surroundings to the max.

While it may have rained almost all day, as it usually does in The Lake District, we managed to nip out for some photos when it was dry alongside my usual self nearly in puddles to get reflection shots!
