Simon & Claire enjoyed a gorgeous 'Just Us' wedding at The briery wood hotel, on Windermere. The ceremony itself was totally private with the photos afterward being a celebration of their newly founded marriage. Both being from Wales, and not knowing The Lake District, they placed their trust in me for a mini-tour of the Lakes for portraits! Something I utterly love to do!
While COVID19 has thrown a few spanners in the works for many couples, I firmly believe it has made people refocus and look at what's important in life, which is one thing I have always utterly adored about elopements and 'Just Us' elopements in the lakes. Simon said while we were adventuring that "We have been together for a few years. With everything that's going on in the world at the moment, we decided to run away to get married just the two of us."
The weather was gorgeous and we couldn't have asked for anything better as we started our adventure by driving round to the Borrowdale valley to the famous Ashness Jetty for some portraits as I knew Simon & Claire wanted to be by the water for some photos. After having a laugh there we drove further up the Fellside to Surprise view overlooking Derwent Water.
Continuing onwards down the valley we headed up Honister Pass. From the car park we ventured out along the fellside path along Honister Crag (Black Star) for some portraits with impressive views and dominating cragsides.
