Kat & Richard had their Lake District micro wedding at the stunning and quiet Merewood Country House Hotel. Micro weddings are perfect for those who aren't a huge fan of fuss and just want to run away with each other and a select few to get married.
After meeting online and going for a coffee for a first date, Kat & Richard fell in love with each other over the mutual enjoyment of metal music, gaming, and their sarcastic humour, much like my own. Richard proposed to Kat in a truly amazing and geeky alternative way which I simply adored.
I was about 7 months pregnant at the time. We had gone out for lunch the day before my birthday. He was planning on taking me on a walk after the meal and proposing on the cliff tops overlooking the sea. But as we left the restaurant it began absolutely pouring down. So we ended up going home. He then handed me a gift to open. I opened it and it was an Xbox controller which was engraved with 'Will U Marry Me?' and as I turned he was on one knee with a ring!
For their wedding day, they decided to travel from Wales to The Lake District. After being inspired by a friend of theirs also eloped to The Merewood Country House Hotel. Not being ones to make a fuss over themselves a micro wedding with their son and both sets of parents was the perfect wedding day for this couple.
After the small ceremony, we headed out into the grounds of the Merewood for portraits which started an adventure for "Lord of the Rings" vibe landscapes and jumping off logs... standard fun elopement really!
Have a look at the below slideshow and blog. If you're thinking about eloping or having a micro wedding, and you fancy contacting me about your elopement then please do as I would love to document your day!
