Katja & Oliver recently married and travelled to The Lake District for their honeymoon. They wanted a Post Wedding Portrait Session to celebrate their new commitment to each other as well as Katja reliving a classic family tradition of walking Gummers How fell and sitting on the Trig Point over looking windermere.
(She also has a tradtition of falling over which you may see in some photos at the end.) Choosing to take the hard way up a small scramble in a wedding dress and a suit with tails was always going to be fun!
I asked Katja for some words and she said the below!
"We met at university, my roommate was friends with his. We met in 3rd year but it turned out we'd lived about 5 minutes apart for the entire time including the same building in the first year."
"Our first conversation was at a party and ended up on the topic of Nuclear Fusion, our first date was to a coffee shop. 5 months after we got together, Oliver went to do his masters research at Harvard, so we were long distance for 9 months."
"Our wedding was originally planned for nearly 200 guests which was changed totally to only 30. We also ditched all the original plans and opted for afternoon tea at a hotel just around the corner from the church."
"We were always planning to come up to the lake district for our honeymoon. I loved the adventure photos I'd seen but knew it wasn't going to be possible near where we were getting married."
"When I stumbled across Josh's portfolio I knew that not only was my idea possible, I had found the perfect, experienced person to carry it out."
"On the day of the shoot Josh was brilliant, he put us both at ease immediately and we spent the whole morning laughing. He was fantastic at teaching us how to pose and directing us but keeping everything casual and fun. It never felt like work. He was up for anything and we honestly had the best day!"
