Leeming House Wedding: Micro Wedding overlooking Ullswater

A couple dressed in wedding attire stands on a path under a large tree in a park-like setting, surrounded by greenery, capturing the intimate essence of a Leeming House Micro Wedding.

Photographing Karolina and Luke’s micro wedding at the gorgeous Ullswater wedding venue, Leeming House Hotel, was a lovely day full of love, family and a bit of magic. Despite a few weather changes, the day went beautifully and showed off the stunning Lake District backdrop that the couple adore.

The Story

Karolina and Luke started their journey together in September 2021, and by November, they knew they were onto something. Their first trip together was in December 2021 to the Lake District, where they stayed at the Macdonald Leeming House Hotel and fell in love with Ullswater. This place became their favourite spot and was full of sentimental value, so it was the obvious choice for their wedding.

The Day

The couple chose my ceremony and portrait coverage, which was perfect for their small family affair. Their closest family members, parents and siblings, were there to witness their vows. They also brought their adorable dog Mia, who was the ring bearer.

Weather and Flexibility

The couple had originally wanted an outdoor ceremony to make the most of the stunning views of Leeming House but the weather had other ideas. Just before the ceremony the heavens opened and we had to move inside. The indoor ceremony was lovely and heartfelt with the warmth of their loved ones around them. The Georgian mansion was a beautiful setting that matched their vision perfectly.

Outdoor Portraits

Luckily, the rain stopped just in time for us to get outside for portraits. The grounds of Leeming House were beautiful, and we had some amazing photo opportunities. We captured some lovely moments that showed Karolina and Luke’s happiness and the Lake District. Their love for each other and the location shone through every image, and we have some beautiful memories of them against the gardens, the lake and the Cumbrian fells.

Conclusion

Photographing Karolina and Luke’s micro wedding proves that small is beautiful and that location is everything. Despite the unpredictable weather, the day was full of love, laughter, and beautiful moments that they will treasure forever. With its charm, photo opportunities, and gardens, Leeming House Hotel was the perfect setting for their day.

As a photographer it was my pleasure to capture these moments for Karolina and Luke. Their love story and the Lake District was a winning combination. The wedding team at Leeming House made sure everything from the small, intimate ceremony to the champagne reception on the terrace was tailored to the couple so they had a magical day.
