Ashley & Gerard’s Rudding Park Hotel Wedding was stunning! If you’re wondering why you recognise this awesome duo then its because they have had two couple portrait sessions over the years and Ashley has been a bridesmaid at two previous weddings… and the brides from those weddings are bridesmaids at this one! Man, I adore this friendship group! In fact, I knew they would trust me enough to try something new, a big photo of the entire gang on the front steps. I’m sure you’ll see it. But that’s enough from me, I asked them to write some words and they were so perfect im not changing a thing! “Our story starts during a game of beer pong at a mutual friend’s birthday celebration (it was also Gezz’s actual birthday!). Ashley was ‘owning’ the game and at the same time, unbeknown to her, was wowing Gezz with her skills! In fact, Gezz was so impressed that he offered her one of his prize beers, which she absent-mindedly accepted and then failed to drink as she was too engrossed in the game (Gezz has never gotten over his wasted beer!). Failing to woo her that evening and leaving her to her fried chicken feast, Gezz went home and awaited the Facebook message he claims to know was coming. We went on our first date a week later, meeting in The Brotherhood of Pursuits and Pastimes (where Gezz tried to impress with a Negroni) and later moving onto It Bar (where Ashley then tried to impress with a hideous mixture the barman created for her). From then on, we became inseparable – spending practically every evening and weekend together. A year later Gezz moved into Ashley’s flat, before selling that and buying our first home together in Wetherby. Our first holiday together was to Cardiff and since then we have visited many places together including out epic holiday to ‘Floribobs’ and our trip to Iceland to celebrate Ashley’s 30th. It was here, at the top of the snowy Gullfoss waterfall, that Gezz dropped down on one knee and proposed – the absolute perfect setting! We wanted to get married close to the place we’d made our home and we’d admired St Oswald’s every time we drove to and from Wetherby, so it felt right to choose that as our church. We then picked a Rudding Park Hotel wedding reception having fallen in love with it went to look around and immediately discounting anywhere else we’d seen. It is a gorgeous venue, set in beautiful grounds, and offers everything we wanted!” Have a look at the below photos from this epic wedding and if you would like me to photograph your big day, please feel free to contact me!
