Alex and Mary met whilst attending Newcastle University. It was towards the end of the first year when Alex asked Mary to borrow a book in order to complete his essay due the next day. From then on they kept in touch and in the October of 2010 became official. After university, Mary moved to London for work and so that we could continue to be together, as Alex was living in Hertfordshire at the time.
We moved in together in 2014 and have since bought our first home in Higham’s Park (London) at the end of 2019. We were also joined by our furry friend last year when we inherited Alex’s family dog Karma, a 6-year-old Beagle.”
“We chose our venue because it is halfway between Alex’s mum family in Cumbria and my family in the northeast. It is also where Mary was born and Alex spent numerous summers visiting grandparents so it was a no brainer. We also chose the date because it is our ten year anniversary. It also helps that it is such a beautiful venue with history being a listed building (ideal for Mary).”
Although lockdown and COVID had played a huge part in some of the stress leading up to this wedding we are all thankful that the original wedding date was able to go ahead, although with reduced numbers. Alex and Mary’s plan has always been to have a two-day wedding with a small wedding at Hexham House with close family and friends followed by a huge party a day after or so. Due to COVID however, this party has moved to next year but I honestly can’t wait to meet and photograph them all again on the dance floors!
Have a look at the below images from this Hexham House Wedding and If you would like me to photograph your big day, Or your outdoor ceremony or elsewhere, please feel free to contact me!
