Rustic Stanford Farm Wedding | LGBT+ Friendly Wedding in Shrewsbury

A couple, dressed in wedding attire, walk hand in hand down a gravel path outdoors, smiling at their rustic farm wedding.

Quinn and Bree’s August wedding at Stanford Farm in Shrewsbury was rustic, relaxed, and full of love. But before we dive into their story, there’s an important part of their journey that shows exactly why it matters to hire a professional wedding photographer.

Originally, they had booked another photographer — a professional who sadly became very unwell. What made all the difference was how the situation was handled: they were given notice, their money was refunded, and they had time to find someone else. That’s how they found me.

There’s no shade here — life happens, and illness can strike anyone, even those of us in this industry. In fact, it’s happened to me too. But this is exactly why professional photographers have contracts and insurance in place: to protect couples, and to make sure that even if the unexpected happens, your day is still covered.

A Modern Love Story

Their story began in a way that could only belong to this generation:

“We met on Facebook dating; we were both using it ironically. We had our first date in Starbucks, where Quinn attempted to teach me how to play chess but I confused him with my lack of strategy. We stayed so long that I got a parking fine and refused to let him pay. I then friend-zoned him for six months. Six months later, we went out to Spoons, had a few drinks, and then haven’t left each other since.”

They even survived a year of long distance while Bree was living in South Wales, before moving back to be closer to Quinn. Soon after, they moved in together, and life hasn’t been the same since.

Why They Love Each Other

When they describe one another, it’s clear their relationship is built on comfort, care, and laughter:

“I love how calm and stoic he is, and the way he can always put a smile on my face. I’ve never been so comfortable and calm around a single person. Instead of draining my social battery, he recharges me. I love their eyes and their smile, the way they giggle at my terrible jokes and are so caring and comforting. She feels like my safety net, and I can’t stand to be apart from them as much as I can.”

Stanford Farm: An LGBT+ Friendly Venue in Shrewsbury

Stanford Farm is the kind of venue that just feels right. Dog-friendly, rustic, and full of character, it gave Quinn and Bree the perfect space to celebrate with their beloved dogs and their closest friends.

Having the venue for three days added an extra sense of calm — no rushing, just time to soak it all in. And beyond the setting, their wedding was surrounded by a wonderfully supportive group of family and friends who were, in their words, “gay as hell” 🌈. The whole celebration was a true safe space where everyone could be themselves.

Private Moments & Unforgettable Laughter

I spent six hours with Quinn and Bree, from morning prep right through to their speeches. Two of the most powerful moments were their private first look and their personal vow reading. Away from the crowd, just the two of them, it was incredibly emotional — the kind of memory you know they’ll carry forever.

Of course, not everything was serious — Bree decided to test her balance on a swing, and ended up dramatically falling off. It was hilarious, completely unplanned, and exactly the kind of candid moment they’d hoped I would capture.

And then there was the duck game. Quinn and Bree had hidden 100 mini ducks around the venue and gardens, turning the whole place into a treasure hunt for both kids and adults. It was chaotic, competitive, and brilliant fun — another perfect reflection of their personalities.

Rustic Wedding Photography at Stanford Farm

Quinn and Bree’s photography brief was simple: candid, rustic, and personal. They wanted the story of their day captured as it unfolded — the joy, the outdoor games, the laughter of friends, the dogs mingling with guests, and of course, those ducks — with just a handful of planned group shots to make sure everyone was included.

The result was a gallery full of warmth, authenticity, and personality. The kind of wedding photography that feels like them.

Final Thoughts

Quinn and Bree’s Stanford Farm wedding was more than a celebration. It was a day filled with joy, emotion, community, and proof that the best weddings are the ones where everyone feels safe and free to be themselves.

And it also showed the importance of hiring a professional photographer. With contracts, insurance, and experience, you have peace of mind that even if life throws the unexpected your way, your story will still be told.
