Ashley, From Yorkshire and Carly, From the US of A, met online via Tinder international last September. After finding out they had a lot in common and talking to each other non-stop they decided to meet up in real life in the December of 2020. Carly came over to the UK for a month and by the end of her month-long stay, in the January of 2021 Ashley Proposed. A proper International whirlwind romance!
From the moment Carly got in touch with myself to photograph their Merewood Country House Hotel wedding I adored their story. Both not being from the Lake District but also wanting to have some photographs out of their wedding outfits we decided to have a couple portrait session in Ambleside two days before the wedding day which I loved as I really got to know these two beauts and have a right good laugh while messing around finding a waterfall in the Lake District. This blog is slightly different to most as I have included the Couple Portrait Session and 'Just Us' Wedding photos into one blog as they were so close together.
After the ceremony, we headed across the road from The Merewood, To The Cragwood Country House Hotel, Its sister hotel to get some lakeside portraits.
"I don't think we ever imagined getting married somewhere so beautiful with the lake and big hills in the distance. We will always be grateful that the Merewood and the Lake District will have a special place in our hearts. It is definitely one of those when you know you know times".
