Jess & Ollie got engaged on the 8th of June 2020 and shortly after contacted me about their lake district wedding day! Went for an amazing couples portrait session, exploring Therilemere, climbing on rocks in the glorious sunshine talking about their upcoming wedding plans. The original plans were to have a massive wedding in March 2021 however, with hotels and other venues already feeling the impact of Covid lockdowns and weddings dates being postponed left right and centre the plans changed to a smaller wedding in the November of 2020…
However, as Jess & Ollie were traveling up to their wedding venue, and only being an hour away from it, another national lockdown was announced. This meant Jess & Ollie had to turn around back home and unpack all of their wedding plans yet again.
It wasn’t all disheartening though as only two days later they found out that they were expecting their first child, how amazing! Knowing they wanted to be married before the arrival they rescheduled the wedding again for March 2021.
However, as the lockdown continued and restrictions stayed in place, the March wedding yet again couldn’t go ahead, so it was rescheduled to May with a reception in a Gazebo with a few loved ones as per the rules when they were announced…
But you guessed it, the rules changed again, with only days to go.
The wedding ended up being a stunning and intimate Lake District church wedding near Windermere. Winster church where they said their vows is a beautiful small church with strong family connections to the grooms side of the family making it the perfect venue.
