Katie and Isaac kept their wedding day small, simple, and personal — just the way they wanted it. They were joined at Carlisle Registry Office by their closest family, including their children, who watched on as they tied the knot in a short and emotional ceremony. No fuss, no extras — just the important people and a couple ready to start their next chapter together.
After the ceremony, we took a short drive into the Lake District for some portraits at Surprise View, one of those spots that’s always worth the walk. A quiet woodland path opens up to sweeping views over Derwentwater and the surrounding fells — the kind of place that feels a world away from everything else.
Katie and Isaac were incredibly natural in front of the camera. They’re clearly close — physically and emotionally — and they stayed in their own bubble the whole time, which made photographing them really easy. No awkward poses, no overthinking. Just honest moments between two people who are completely comfortable with each other.
Their connection is intense in a quiet way. Lots of eye contact, small gestures, and that feeling that they really see each other. They’re both very tactile and affectionate, and that closeness came through in every frame. They’d asked for a traditional, almost old-school feel to their photos, and this setting gave them exactly that — a calm walk, a few quiet pauses, and nothing forced.
After the shoot, Katie and Isaac headed down to Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, just beneath the viewpoint, for a well-earned rest and a bit of pampering. It was a nice way to wind down after a big morning — relaxed, peaceful, and just the two of them.
Their day was a great reminder that weddings don’t need to be big to be meaningful. A small room, a few important people, a decent view, and time together — sometimes that’s all you really need.
